Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 4 follows Buffy Summers as she leaves Sunnydale High behind and begins college at UC Sunnydale, where the challenges of adulthood prove almost as intimidating as the supernatural dangers she continues to face. As Buffy adjusts to campus life, changing friendships, and new relationships, she discovers a secret military organization known as the Initiative operating beneath the university. Their experiments with demons and other supernatural creatures soon create a powerful new threat, while familiar enemy Spike finds himself in an unexpected new role.

The fourth season takes Buffy the Vampire Slayer beyond its high school setting, blending supernatural horror, action, comedy, and coming-of-age drama with stories about independence and finding your place in a changing world. As Buffy, Willow, Xander, and Giles begin following different paths, the season explores themes of identity, friendship, isolation, and growing apart while delivering some of the series’ most inventive and memorable episodes.
