In 1987, Bumblebee, a battle-damaged Autobot, takes refuge in a junkyard on the California coast. There, Charlie, a teenage girl about to turn 18 and struggling to find her place, stumbles upon the broken yellow Volkswagen Beetle. When she manages to reactivate him, she discovers Bumblebee is more than just a car.

As Charlie and Bumblebee form an unlikely bond, they face the challenge of evading threats that pursue the Autobot. Their growing friendship becomes key to navigating dangers while uncovering Bumblebee’s mysterious origins and mission on Earth.
