Gabe Walker (Sylvester Stallone), a mountain rescue ranger in the Colorado Rockies, is haunted by a tragic accident that claimed the life of a friend during a failed rescue. Struggling with guilt, he returns to the mountains only to be drawn into a deadly situation when a group of criminals, led by the ruthless Qualen (John Lithgow), crash-land during an elaborate heist involving $100 million in stolen federal funds. Posing as stranded hikers, the criminals force Gabe and his former partner Hal (Michael Rooker) to help recover the lost money scattered across the peaks.

As the situation escalates, Gabe must overcome his trauma and survive extreme conditions, treacherous terrain, and armed adversaries in order to stop the thieves and save innocent lives. Blending high-altitude action with intense suspense, the story is a gripping battle between man and nature.
