Destino (2003)

Destino (2003) is a surreal animated short film that originated from a collaboration between legendary surrealist artist Salvador Dalí and Walt Disney. Initially conceived in 1945 but left unfinished for decades, the project was eventually completed by The Walt Disney Company. The short follows a dreamlike journey through the mind of a young woman named Dahlia as she navigates a series of fantastical, surreal landscapes.

Set to a haunting, romantic score by Mexican composer Armando Dominguez, Destino explores themes of time, love, and destiny through visually striking imagery, blending Dalí’s iconic surrealism with Disney’s animation style. The film is a non-linear narrative filled with melting clocks, abstract transformations, and symbolic representations, all paying homage to Dalí’s artistic vision while capturing the timeless quality of love and fate.
