Detective Dick Tracy faces a challenging case as he confronts the powerful crime boss Big Boy Caprice, who is attempting to consolidate control over the city’s organized crime. While working to dismantle Caprice’s mob, Tracy must navigate encounters with a host of dangerous characters, including the elusive gangster Mumbles and the menacing enforcer Flattop. Tracy’s allies include his faithful partner Sam Catchem and his devoted love interest Tess Trueheart, who provide support amid the chaos.

Complicating matters is the seductive nightclub singer Breathless Mahoney, whose overtures to Tracy blur the lines between ally and adversary. As Tracy dives deeper into the criminal underworld, he contends with the competing loyalties and mysteries surrounding figures such as Spaldoni and 88 Keys. The city’s law enforcement, led by Chief Brandon, and various mobsters engage in a tense struggle for power that pulls Tracy into a high-stakes battle to restore order.
