Luca and his adventurous friend Alberto live in a hidden world beneath the waves along the Italian Riviera, where they spend their days dreaming of exploring the human world above. During a vibrant summer, they emerge from the sea and discover the colorful seaside town of Portorosso. Excited by their newfound freedom, they befriend a local girl named Giulia and plunge into new experiences, including joining a thrilling local scooter race.

However, their underwater origins pose a constant risk, as their sea monster forms must remain secret to avoid fear and rejection from the townspeople. As Luca and Alberto navigate friendships, family, and personal dreams, they struggle to balance their desire to belong on land with the need to protect their true identities from discovery.
