Brothers Lars and Ernie Smuntz inherit an old mansion that appears to be a financial disappointment. However, their fortunes change when they discover that the estate holds considerable value. Eager to sell the property and improve their situation, they prepare to put the house on the market.

Their plans are complicated by the presence of a determined mouse that refuses to leave. This tiny intruder becomes a persistent obstacle as Lars and Ernie attempt various strategies to evict it. The battle to remove the mouse turns into a comedic struggle, drawing in a colorful cast of characters connected to the mansion and its history.
