Chanticleer is a confident and lively rooster living on a farm, convinced that his crowing is responsible for the sunrise. When one morning the sun rises without his call, Chanticleer feels humiliated and leaves the farm to pursue a career as a rock ’n’ roll singer. Meanwhile, the farm is left without its usual dawn herald, and the animals face a new challenge.

In Chanticleer’s absence, a dark and menacing owl who despises sunlight schemes to seize control. As the sinister bird moves forward with his plan, the balance of day and night hangs in jeopardy. With a cast of farm animals and creatures caught in the middle, the story sets the stage for a struggle involving courage, music, and the power of light.
