An atomic bomb test in the Arctic Circle unexpectedly thaws a prehistoric creature frozen in ice for millennia. The dinosaur awakens and begins moving toward human-inhabited areas, leaving a path of destruction in its wake.

Scientists and military personnel, including Dr. Thurgood Elson and Colonel Jack Evans, work together to track the beast as it advances toward New York City. Efforts to understand and stop the creature become urgent as it threatens to unleash chaos on the urban landscape.
