Ariel, the youngest and most headstrong daughter of King Triton, is fascinated by the human world beyond her ocean home. Despite her father’s strict rules forbidding mermaids from interacting with humans, she frequently ventures to the surface to explore and learn. During one of her visits, she encounters Prince Eric and becomes captivated by him, sparking a desire to experience life on land.

To pursue this dream, Ariel turns to Ursula, a dangerous sea witch known for her dark magic. Through a risky bargain, Ariel gains a chance to live among humans but risks her own safety and the stability of her father’s reign. As Ariel navigates this new world, the stakes grow higher, forcing her to confront the consequences of her choices beneath the sea and beyond.
