After a bungled scheme leaves them without a ship, two cunning conmen, Tulio and Miguel, seize a chance to escape by stowing away on a vessel bound for the New World. Their journey takes a surprising turn when they discover the legendary city of El Dorado, rumored to be filled with immeasurable riches. Upon arrival, the natives mistake Tulio and Miguel for gods, thrusting them into a world of palace intrigue, lavish ceremonies, and high expectations.

As they navigate the glittering city and its inhabitants, including the spirited chemist Chel and the ambitious high priest Tzekel-Kan, the pair find themselves caught between maintaining their ruse and dealing with their growing conscience. The citizens of El Dorado look to their new “deities” for guidance, while treasure hunters and soldiers from outside threaten to disrupt the fragile balance, forcing the duo to balance clever deception with unexpected responsibility.
