The Wild Geese (1978)

A British multinational corporation hires a group of seasoned mercenaries led by Colonel Allen Faulkner to carry out a covert mission in central Africa. Their objective is to rescue Julius Limbani, a virtuous opposition leader who is imprisoned, critically ill, and facing imminent execution under a ruthless dictatorship. The team, which includes Captain Rafer Janders, Lieutenant Shawn Fynn, and Lieutenant Pieter Coetze, is dispatched from London into hostile territory to extract Limbani and secure his safety.

After successfully completing the rescue, the mercenaries find themselves abandoned when the multinational company strikes a deal with the dictator they opposed. Left to fend for themselves, Colonel Faulkner and his team must navigate dangerous terrain and hostile forces as they attempt to survive and respond to the betrayal. The mission’s shifting alliances create tension between the mercenaries and the external powers that set the operation in motion.
