Victoria Grant is a struggling female soprano in 1930s Paris who faces difficulty finding work until she adopts a daring new act. With the help of her friend Carroll “Toddy” Todd, she begins performing as a male female impersonator, masquerading as “Victor.” This inventive disguise opens doors to a glamorous nightclub scene and newfound success, attracting the attention of influential figures, including nightclub owner King Marchand.

As Victoria’s career blossoms, maintaining the double life creates increasing complications, especially when personal and professional boundaries start to blur. The intricate web of deception and attraction challenges her relationships with Toddy, King Marchand, and other characters such as Norma Cassady and André Cassell. Navigating society’s expectations and her own desires, Victoria’s unique performance becomes both a source of opportunity and confusion.
